I.  EXIT INTELLEX APPLICATION

  1.   Utility > Exit > When prompted to exit enter “Yes” and enter pin code “98374252”

II.  DISABLE BLANK PASSORD RESTRICTION ON INTELLEX 4.X UNIT.            

  1. Click Start, point to Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK to start the Group Policy Editor.
  2. Open Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security
  3. Options\Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only.
  4. Double-click Limit local account use of blank passwords to consol logon only.
  5. Click Disabled, and then click OK.
  6. Quit Group Policy Editor.

III. ADDING USERS TO REMOTE DESKTOP ON INTELLEX UNITS

  1. Right-click My Computer > Properties > select Remote tab
  2. Under Remote Desktop > place a check box on the “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer” and then select “Select Remote Users” button.
  3. Under Select Users box > select “Add” button and add user “intellex1” and “administrator”  and then select “Ok” button.  Close all of the open Windows boxes.

IV. CONNECTING TO INTELLEX REMOTE VIA REMOTE DESKTOP
(All operating system except Windows 95, 98, ME, and NT).

  1. Start > run > type “mstsc” and select “Ok” button.
  2. Enter the IP address of the Intellex unit and then select “Options” button.
  3. Select the “Display” tab, Under “Display Configuration” select “800 X 600” pixels, Under Colors select “True Color 24 bits”.
  4. Select the “Connect” button to connect to the Intellex unit.
  5. When you see the “Log On to Intellex”  screen, use “User name” = “intellex1” and leave the shu password blank and select Ok button.  You should see the Intellex application running.
    Note:  you must use the same user account between the Intellex and the remote client.
  6. Done.

WARNING: When you use remote desktop to connect to Intellex 4.X units for management, you MUST issue  this command “Start > run > shutdown –r –t 0” to restart the Intellex when you are done with the Remote Desktop session on Intellex unit.  If you do not perform the above command, the Intellex will display the Windows logon screen.  This can prevent the Intellex from recording.

Known defect:  If your Intellex DVMS is version 4.31.48.172, there are reports that remote desktop causes the Intellex unit to reboot.  The solution is to upgrade the Intellex to version 4.31.22.42 (4.3 patch 6).
